My Great Lengths experience

A few months back my hair went through a transformation! I got new hair extensions, but not just any type of extension, I got myself Great Lengths extensions. Anyone that knows me, knows my hair is my 'thing', I like it long, blonde and ever mermaid like ;). Sadly my natural hair is just not up to this challenge. It's naturally short, fine, at times limp (no one likes anything limp) and its never grown past my shoulders- Yes true story my hair hates growing!!!

Ever since I started in the entertainment industry back when I was 16, I've used some form of extension, be it clip-ins, glue-ins, wear-ins or sew-ins (the list goes on).
Most of which either fall out, hurt alot, cost an arm and a leg or like my worst experience, leave bald patches. Yeah... not hot! I must point out I don't hate clip in's just prefer a more permeate options that I don't have to stress about possibly unclipping while dancing!

My beloved hair dresser Kevin McKenzie London, who has just won the Sydney Business Award in his category (a massive achievement for an independent local Sydney Salon) uses Great Lengths on all his clients looking for extensions. It took me a few months to persuade myself to try something new in this department (after the bald patch I have been less than daring) . It's safe to say since he convinced me to transform my hair with Great lengths I don't think i am ever going back. It's been over 4 months and I am only just exchanging my current Great Lengths for a new batch. Mind you the current ones are still in the same luscious condition, in which they were applied WINNING!!!

Most people have no idea that I have extensions, because that's the whole purpose of having good quality hair extensions, they are just there to enhance what you already have. Over the course of having my Great Lengths extensions in i've gone from wearing them as extensions to create the illusion of length, to cutting them to my real hair's length and using them to enhance the volume of my existing hair. Something I had never done with extensions before.

Other than the obvious differences in quality and longevity, they are also the only certified humans rights hair extensions provider. You would be shocked to know where most other brands collect their hair from... Google it will make you cringe!

So there you have it, for all the lovely people that always ask where I get my hair done when I am out working. Here's my secret, a full head of Great Lengths Extensions and a the talented team and Kevin Mckenzie.

P.S I am going to be rocking more than just long locks in the coming weeks, i'm going to have PINK strands in my hair in support of 'Pink hair to show you care' to raise funds for cancer research- All part of an program Great Lengths set up 3 years ago to generate donations for breast cancer and raise much needed awareness, you can find more about it here

Get on board xx
