 The shoot above was done by the very talented Josh Hedge. It's a part of a 'series of shoots' I did on my road trip up the coast with my cousin Karen. They are all part of a project I am working on that I will tell you all about soon :)

 The whole feeling of the shoot reminds me of a poem I wrote when I was 11 entitled 'FREE'. Growing up, poetry was my outlet and I wrote a lot of it. I was fortunate enough to have a my work published. One of my published poems is entitled 'FREE'. It's published in Poems By Young Australians which was an anthology of poems published by the Taronga Foundation back in 2003 . The poem  is about sailing on Sydney Harbour with my Dad, Donald.
It's so strange but the feelings I had  back when I wrote 'free' at the age of 11 are the same feeling I had when shooting these with Josh. Life just goes around in circles, weird and wonderful circles.

FREE

Out I go on a Tuesday night.

I am at the bow, as I close my eyes.

 I am diving down into the crystal water.

Sinking to the bottom I feel the sand at my toes.

I am drifting with the currant rushing with the waves.

Suddenly I am shooting into the clear blue sky.

Gliding on the touch of the wind.

Landing on a cloud, dancing on their silver lining.

I am flying... I am free

I fall the wind rushing through me. I fall to the water.

 Up to my waist I am in cool water.

The rest of me is swaying with the wind.

Dad yells Rochelle we are tacking.

For a moment I was free, my worries where gone my thoughts had faded.

It was only me the wind and the sea I wish it could stay that way.
